Mano River Announces Promising Diamond Results From its 15,000 KM2 Mineral Cooperation Agreement in Liberia

· Early identification of very high interest kimberlite indicator anomalies
· Excellent G10 garnet mineral chemistry
· Reconnaissance exploration programme underway

Mano River Resources Inc. (“Mano” or “the Company”) is pleased to report early exciting results from its Mineral Cooperation Agreement (“MCA”) property in western Liberia. The MCA, covering 15,000km2, is a contributory Joint Venture between the Government of Liberia (30%) and Mano (70%) and incorporates the rights to explore for diamonds, gold and base metals.

In January 2005, reconnaissance stream sampling commenced in the MCA, focussed on the Camp Alpha area. Over 150 samples have been collected so far, with a large number of these having been processed in Mano’s recently established diamond prep laboratory in Monrovia. Many of these samples yielded abundant kimberlitic indicator minerals, particularly ilmenite and garnet.

Subsequent microprobe analysis in South Africa of selections of these grains confirms their kimberlitic affinity, but furthermore suggests a very high interest source (or sources) based on the garnet mineral chemistry (see Plot 1). The chemistry displays a significant population of high Cr2O3 and low CaO garnets that is considered to bear comparison with some of the best garnet chemistry seen elsewhere in the world, and is indicative of diamondiferous sources within the MCA property. This is supported by the fact that the Camp Alpha area has been subjected to intensive artisanal diamond mining activity.

President and CEO, Dr. Tom Elder, comments, “The recovery of these exceptional results at such an early stage in the programme is very exciting. The immediate objective for Mano is twofold; firstly, to continue the reconnaissance sampling progress, but secondly to investigate in detail these high interest anomalies with a view to locating the kimberlite source(s) that we believe to be present within our property”.

About Mano
Mano is a well-funded exploration company focused on the discovery of diamond and gold deposits in the Archaean terrain of the highly prospective, under-explored, West African Mano River Union countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Mano considers the region has the potential to develop into a world-class diamond and gold-mining province. The Company has over 25,000km2 under licence, close to one million ounces of gold in resource, a cluster of diamondiferous kimberlite pipes and joint ventures in place with BHP Billiton, Crown Diamonds, Trans Hex Group, Golden Star and Navasota which, if they are all fully exercised, will involve a total of over US$16m in third party expenditure on Mano’s licences. With increasing market recognition of the recent positive evolution in the regional politics, Mano is starting to capitalise on its position as the pre-eminent gold and diamond explorer in the sub-region.
